Island of Elba - a piece of bella Italia
The former fishing village of Chiessi is located on the west coast of Elba, also called "Costa del sole", the sunny side of the island. Many visitors arrive in the evening to watch the picturesque sunsets - the sun sinks behind the silhouette of Corsica in the sea.
In the center of Chiessi, next to the small church, is the hotel "Il Perseo", three minutes walk from Casa di Floris. You can buy fresh croissants, newspapers, snacks and ice creams daily or enjoy lunch or dinner in the cozy restaurant.
Small shops for daily needs such as bakeries, groceries, bars, pizzerias and restaurants can be found in the neighboring village of Pomonte, a 15-minute walk or a few minutes' drive from Chiessi.
A little further south is the village of Fetovaia. Those who prefer sandy beaches will find one of the most beautiful on the island. Protected by a promontory, it is also suitable for small children. The lively beach bar with restaurant there is a kiosk and there are enough toilets available.
